Dr. Knickerbocker has an extensive career in organizational change consulting, meeting design & facilitation, project management, change management and training – in both executive management roles and as a consultant.

His most recent work has been as a social entrepreneur working with innovative start-up nonprofit organizations in the education sector. Before that he had a successful 15-year career at Hewlett-Packard, where he provided organizational development consulting to HP executives and ran a management consulting practice for HP customers. Before that he was an IT manager and project manager in the financial industry focused on large software development projects.

Jim graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a BA in Economics, holds an MA in Management from John F. Kennedy University, as well as an MA and PhD in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University. His doctoral work focused on the use of experiential learning to help people adapt to change. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.

In addition, he is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation, a Certified Integral Coach with New Ventures West in San Francisco, and a member of the American Psychological Association.

His executive coaching work is typically aimed to allow leaders to successfully drive major organizational change. His transformational coaching work is focused on helping clients leverage deep sources of personal meaning for what they want to do in the world.
